@@patrickhickey713 I'm very interested in finding compelling evidence for god. In fact finding any evidence for anything supernatural. So far not one shred of evidence has been put forward that is even slightly compelling. Pretty much everything has been a weak god of the gaps argument or a variation on the watch-maker fallacy. Because there are plenty of man made beliefs about science that are at odds. Example: The idea of evolution is mans new god and it is touted as science.

No where in Titus 3:10 does it say "Jesus" or "Christ" in the NKJV. So you are implying something that Scripture does not say. But by your own standards of Titus 3:10 in the NKJV, you should read Romans 16:17 in the KJV. By your false statement of the NKJV, then the KJV also says to reject Christ. Thankfully, for the rest of us who actually study what the Bible actually says, and not regurgitate KJVO lies, your standards don't matter. As far as Baptism saves. Your KJV says in Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE BAPTIZED". Also 1 Peter 3:21 in your KJV says "The like figure whereunto even BAPTISM doth now SAVE US." (Emphasis added by me) Also the NKJV is translated from the same manuscripts as the KJV. All you have to do is look at 1 John 5:7-8. The KJV & NKJV read the same way as compared with the NIV, ESV, RSV and the other critical text based translations.

Peter is writing to the believers in Christ who were dispersed from Jerusalem by those who don't believe in Christ. "There is neither Jew nor Greek......for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." Gal 3:28 KJV. A person is either a believer or a non-believer. You either come to faith in Christ in this life, or you don't. There is no future salvation after you have died. The "chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people"; those are Christians, as is plainly shown by the rest of verses 9 and 10. Yup, 7 different kinds of baptisms are listed.......for specific periods of time. Christians aren't baptized into Moses or John. The baptism of fire and of the Spirit happened at Pentecost. Christians today are baptized in the Trinitarian Formula that Christ commanded his Apostles . And yes, water is applied because that is literally what the Greek word Baptizmo means. As for believer's baptism, nothing wrong with that. The original Greek does not use punctuation marks. Did some or all that came out of Eygpt with Moses rebel? Verse 18 & state they could not enter because of their unbelief. Of every adult that left Eypgt with Moses, God allowed none to enter the promised land, but Joshua and Caleb see Numbers 32:11 & 12. So, it is a translation issue. It sure seems that NKJV in Hebrews 3:16 is accurate since according to Numbers 32:11 & 12 all the men from age 20 and up rebelled at one point or another against God, except Joshua and Caleb. @@danbratten3103 perhaps if you read and study The Revelation you will see the instructions the Lord gives to the Jews, the group who are on earth during the Trib after all Christians are Raptured, you will find it's works, works, works. The Lord tells them to endure to the end, keep the commandments, don't take the mark. Some will become believers and they will keep the testimony of Jesus. You should study dispensational salvation. Did the OT Jews have to do the works of Temple worship or not? Also you must prove Eph 2:8 doctrinally applies to everyone in the book.

If one answers NO then one must disregard many, many OT passages. If one answers YES then a whole world of Bible study is opened to the student. Four things I hold constant in all Bible study. 1. Everyone in scripture finds eternal life by doing what God instructed that person to do. 2. No one can go to the Throne of God in heaven without first being covered by the shed blood of Christ. 3. The shed blood of Christ cannot be physically spread before it was physically shed. 4. Understanding only comes AFTER belief. The Greek word translated "fornication" is porneia which is found 26 times in the Greek New Testament. W. E. Vine states porneia (fornication) "is used of illicit sexual intercourse…." (Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words). Henry Thayer defines "fornication" as "illicit sexual intercourse in general…distinguished from adultery (moicheia) in Matt. 15: 19…used of adultery…in Matt. 5: 32, 19: 9 (Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon, pg. 532). I do not see the reference to John 8. Perhaps the respondent will give us the verse he refers to. The Arndt, Gingrich, and Danker Greek-English lexicon says the word porneia refers to “prostitution, unchastity, fornication, of every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse.” They give for the primary definition “the sexual unfaithfulness of a married woman” (1979, p. 693). The NIV Theological Dictionary of New Testament Words has an extensive section on porneia and related words: “This word group describes various extramarital sexual modes of behavior insofar as they deviate from accepted social and religious norms (e.g., homosexuality, promiscuity, pedophilia, and esp. prostitution)” (Verbrugge, 2000, 6:1077).

The Niv is a garbage watered down modern Bibles. MANY MISTRANSLATED words and phrases..it's NOT reliable. Use KJV! John 8:41 the Pharacies accuse Jesus of being born out of FORNICATION. Referring to the belief his parents had him out of wedlock bc they were ONLY BETEOTHED and not yet officially married. Fornication is sexual immorality between SINGLE PEOPLE. Adultery is sexual immorality between married people. This is CLEARLY what Jesus is referring to in Matthew 5,and 19 when saying "but for fornication". Why? It's simple, Matthew is written almost exclusively to Jews. Thus the "exception" is not repeated or confirmed in the gospels of Luke and Mark which are written to Gentiles. Also not repeated in 1 Corinthians 710-11; 39 OR Romans 7:1-3, ALSO written to Gentiles! Thus no need to mention betrothal as they didn't practice the custom. I'm ASTONISHED that as a "Pastor" you aren't aware of this. You're gravely ignorant on the matter. We don't take one book of scripture and conveniently overrule 4 other books and passages to justify loopholes, wiggle room and feelings. That IS NOT taking full consensus of scripture and rightly dividing. Jesus's point to the pharisees of " Haven't you read, In the beginning it was not so"( meaning divorce) Clearly states that the marriage Covenant is for Life! Mark 10:2-12 Matthew 19:5-6 Luke 16:18 Go look at what ALL the early church leaders taught, from the disciples to Augustine and onward till about a few hundred years ago!!Humble yourself before Almighty God and accept marriage is for life and stop encouraging the violating of the Covenant (it cannot be broken: Mark:10:9, ONLY violated) Your teaching is in direct disobedience of God's Holy Word. I love the King James Version of the Bible. No translation is more beautiful and no translation gives me greater confidence that the Scriptures are translated accurately in modern English except for the NKJV. Below are three notable improvements the NKJV makes on the KJV. The last one is a great concern to me in the age we live in. Please share three significant examples where you believe the NKJV is inferior to the KJV. These examples will benefit me and others who visit here. “Prevent” should be translated “precede” in 1 Thessalonians 4:15 The word “letteth” means the opposite and should be translated “hold back” in 2 Thessalonians 2:7. The NKJV presents far greater clarity on the abominable practices that will exclude one from the kingdom of mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:9, KJV “nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,” NKJV “nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,”

The New King James is not a King James Bible. It changed 64,000 words, ruined valuable verses, and when not agreeing with the King James Bible, it has instead copied the perverted NIV, NASV or RSV. And this you must know: those who translated the NKJV did not believe God perfectly preserved His words!

@@LetTheBibleSpeak there are no improvements on the KJV. It is the inerrant infallible word of God for English speaking people. The NKJV doesn’t even use the same manuscripts.

@@rightlydividing7607 when we translate the bible from the source to the vulgar language we should translate what the passage meant then in today's language. language changes so what was the standard 415 years ago may not be today because some words change meaning or are no longer used
